Treating ADD/ADHD with LENS

LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) can help decrease impulsivity, distractibility and anxiety, all of which can help improve focus and learning. The world becomes easier to navigate. Life becomes less of a struggle for the patient and parent. Improved self-confidence is very common.

Children diagnosed with ADD/ADHD, anger issues, and impulsive behaviors have all been shown to benefit from LENS. Tangible results can be seen with 3-5 sessions. It is perfectly fine for clients to receive LENS Neurofeedback treatments while taking other medication. Often clients chose to reduce or stop taking their medication altogether after a course of treatment.

Also, with LENS clients almost always report feeling calmer with improved emotional regulation, often after just a session or two. Children day dream less as they become more present in their day to day activities. LENS has also helped children with sleep problems such as teeth grinding, sleep walking, and night terrors.

LENS is a specific kind of Neurofeedback that operates much more rapidly than traditional Neurofeedback and is much easier to use with people who can’t sit still. With the LENS, the client doesn’t need to “do” anything, and there is nothing to learn. The typical session with the LENS lasts 3-4 minutes. Typically 8 to 12 sessions is all that’s needed. After a full course of treatment is completed most clients never feel the need to return.

So how does it work? Basically the LENS is programmed to gently push brainwaves out of their currently stuck and maladaptive patterns. This frees the brainwaves, making them more flexible and allowing them to perform to their full potential. The key is not to tell the brainwave what to do, but to instead return brainwaves to their healthiest state so they function as designed. Genetics, birth trauma, physical trauma and mental trauma can all cause brainwaves to lose flexibility. LENS simply returns and improves that flexibility.
